Hermione's growing up ;)

Well, not quite yet. But another chapter (the third) has been added to the new version of "Hermione Granger and the Philosopher's Stone", my rendition of Harry Potter from my favourite character's point of view.

Find the story here:

  • Wow, you know I searched for "Hermione Granger and the Philosopher's Stone" and I must say, I'm impressed that you managed to make it through that entire first book like that. It takes a lot of perserverance to write something that long.

Oddly enough, and perhaps in some ways unfortunate, I'm actually writing the exact same thing. The idea struck me a couple of months ago and I've been slogging away at it ever since. About three quarters of the way through Philosopher's Stone at the moment. Weird how that works.

  • Well, the idea is somewhat obvious. I'm not the first who wrote this and I probably won't be the last. I just like to think that I'm the best :D

But I know what you mean. I'm continuing with Chamber of Secrets, and I'm really stuck. Hermione is not very important in the beginning, and I can't seem to make myself walk the narrow ridge between boredom (stupid canon repetition) and information loss (my father is learning the story of HP this way).
I just have more fun writing my other stories, so this story tends to get neglected.

I should also mention that the URL in the original has gone invalid. The new URL is

  • Chamber of Secrets looks to be a tricky (though less exhaustive) one to write. I'm not exactly sure what to do while she's petrified. It leaves out a pretty serious chunk of story if she just wakes up and someone tells her what happened down there. Prisoner of Azkaban on the other hand is quite the opposite. She's got a whole story of her own in that one and I have a feeling that Hermione's version will end up being a good deal longer than Harry's.

  • I plan to switch to Ron's PoV while Hermione is petrified.

PoA will be indeed very different. It will mainly deal with the troubles Hermione has, far less with Harry's concerns. There are two reasons for this: first, Hermione has enough troubles of her own, and second, the interesting part of Harry's troubles is not as interesting because we know that Hermione has the time turner.
